CAWA And AAIA Host Senior Air Board Officials At Industry Trade Show – AAPEX
The California Automotive Wholesalers’ Association (CAWA) and the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) hosted senior officials of the California Air Resources Board (CARB) at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Exposition (AAPEX) in Las Vegas.
In an unprecedented effort to better understand the automotive aftermarket industry, CARB Executive Officer James Goldstene and Deputy Executive Officer Tom Cackette traveled to Las Vegas, walked the AAPEX show, and met many industry leaders including Rodney K. Pierini, President and CEO of CAWA, and Kathleen Schmatz, President and CEO of AAIA.

Battery Core Deposit Discrepancy Bill Signed into Law

The Arizona Automotive Wholesalers’ Association (CAWA) announced that Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has signed into law HB 2130 to address a discrepancy in battery core sales and deposits.
HB 2130, authored by Representative Michelle Reagan and sponsored on behalf of CAWA, will update the amount of the recycling deposit that retailers can charge consumers that purchase automotive batteries to an amount that is not greater than the recycling deposit charged by battery manufacturers.
CAWA Members Meet With Key Assembly Members
The California Automotive Wholesalers’ Association (CAWA) held a series of private meetings with key California legislators who sit on key committee’s in the Legislature including Assemblyman Bill Berryhill, Assemblywoman Cathleen Galgiani, Assemblyman John Perez, and Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries to highlight critical legislative and regulatory issues the association is actively working for its members.
